Certificate II in Meat Processing (Food Services)

This qualification covers work activities undertaken by workers commencing work in meat enterprises which undertake specialised services, such as preparing shelf ready retail products, meat wholesalers, specialty meat cuts, gourmet meat, bulk value-added products, and providing meat preparation customer service.

The AMP20117 Certificate II in Meat Processing (Food Services) is a highly flexible qualification enabling selections to be made from a wide range of units.

Graduates from this qualification will be able to:

  • access, record and act on a defined range of information from a range of sources
  • apply and communicate known solutions to a limited range of predictable problems
  • use a limited range of equipment to complete tasks involving known routines and procedures with a limited range of options.

Certificate III in Meat Processing (Boning Room)

This qualification covers work activities undertaken by workers in boning rooms or in meat wholesale enterprises which prepare meat cuts from whole carcases.

 

Graduates from this qualification will have a wide range of cognitive, technical and communication skills to select and apply a specialised range of tools, materials and information to:

  • complete routine activities
  • provide and transmit solutions to predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems

 

Graduates will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and to take limited responsibility in known and stable contexts within established parameters.

Certificate III in Meat Processing (Livestock Handling)

This qualification covers the work activities undertaken by team leaders working the yards or lairage. Typically people undertaking this qualification will have responsibility for the welfare, yarding and movement of stock in an abattoir.

Graduates from this qualification will have a wide range of cognitive, technical and communication skills to select and apply a specialised range of tools, materials and information to:

  • complete routine activities
  • provide and transmit solutions to predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems.

Graduates will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and to take limited responsibility in known and stable contexts within established parameters.

Certificate III in Meat Processing (Slaughtering)

This qualification covers work activities undertaken by workers undertaking slaughtering duties in abattoirs.

Graduates from this qualification will have a wide range of cognitive, technical and communication skills to select and apply a specialized range of tools, materials and information to:

  • provide and transmit solutions to predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems.

Graduates will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and to take limited responsibility in known and stable contexts within established parameters.

Certificate III in Pork Production

This qualification provides an occupational outcome in the pork industry. The pork industry expects that graduates from this qualification will be able to perform a range of tasks associated with a person performing the job role of a piggery attendant.
 
The pork industry expects that graduates from this qualification will be able to perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

Certificate III in Poultry Production

This qualification provides an occupational outcome in the poultry industry. The poultry industry expects that graduates from this qualification will be able to perform a range of tasks associated with a person performing the job role of a poultry hand. HSR Training Program

HSR

This is the WorkSafe Queensland Health & Safety Representative Training Program.
From 1 February 2019, all HSRs must undertake the relevant approved training course within three months of their election unless a training course is not reasonably available within this period. Existing HSRs, who have not already completed the training, must complete the training within the required period. If a worker chooses not to undertake the training within the time period, they will no longer be eligible to fulfill the role of HSR and will need to be replaced

HSRs and deputy HSRs can ask a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) to attend approved courses.

The PCBU must give HSRs paid time off to attend a course and pay the course costs and reasonable expenses, within three months of the request.
